Honoring a Legacy of Service
The Atlanta Children’s Day Shelter marked a major milestone by hosting the Founders’ Luncheon, celebrating 40 years of building pathways and hope for local children and families. Supporters gathered at the very site where the organization started to honor the visionary leaders whose compassion and determination brought the shelter to life four decades ago.
This historic event officially launched the shelter’s 40 Stories campaign—a multi-month series highlighting the people, families, partners, and pivotal moments that have defined the Day Shelter past, present, and future. The founders' journey serves as the inaugural feature of the series
Rooted in Our Past. Building Our Future
The luncheon also featured the debut of the Lauvonia Armour Award for Exceptional Service, named in memory of the shelter’s first childcare employee, whose deep dedication set the standard for the organization's mission.
