Countdown to Legacy Builders Celebration 2025 – The Statistic Is Not the Story

We’re excited to spotlight this year’s distinguished speakers!

This year’s Legacy Builders Celebration (LBC25) will feature a dynamic panel of experts in early childhood education, adult mental health, behavioral therapy and housing instability. Together, they’ll explore the power of a holistic approach—addressing every facet of our clients’ lives to help them build lasting legacies and achieve long-term stability.

Join us as we highlight the voices at the heart of this year’s celebration: four changemakers whose stories reflect the strength, complexity, and hope of the families we serve.

Rose Scott (Moderator)

“Closer Look” Program Host & Award-Winning Journalist /Atlanta NPR station – WABE, 90.1 FM

As host of “Closer Look” on WABE, Rose Scott has built a career around thoughtful conversations and community-centered journalism. With her signature curiosity and care, Rose will moderate this year’s Legacy Builders Celebration, guiding us through powerful stories, tough questions, and transformational dialogue.

Her presence reminds us that storytelling is a form of justice—and that listening deeply is a radical act.

Ryan James (Panelist)

Director, Rollins Center, Chief Academic Officer / Atlanta Speech School

Ryan James brings a passionate voice to early childhood education, advocating for the critical link between speech, literacy, and equity. At LBC25, she will explore how communication access in the earliest years shapes a child’s lifelong potential—not just in reading, but in self-expression and belonging.

Because the story of a child should never be limited by silence.

Nia Baker (Panelist)

Clinical Director & Therapist /Active Resilience Counseling & Coaching (ARC)

Mental health is more than a diagnosis—it’s a thread that weaves through families, neighborhoods, and futures. Nia Baker, a leader at ARC, brings her expertise and lived experience to the forefront of the adult mental health conversation.

She reminds us that behind every mental health statistic is a story of resilience, survival, and strength—and that healing is a community project.

Cameron Turner (Panelist)

Executive Director / Atlanta Children’s Day Shelter

Cameron Turner’s work at the Atlanta Children’s Day Shelter is rooted in compassion, advocacy, and action. At LBC25, she’ll share what it means to support families beyond emergency response—creating pathways to housing, education, and long-term stability.

Because a child experiencing homelessness is not a number—they’re a future leader, dreamer, and legacy builder.
