Summer of STEAM: A Season of Discovery and Delight
This summer at Atlanta Children’s Day Shelter was filled with more than sunshine—it was filled with curiosity, creativity, and moments that mattered. From field trips to proud smiles, from curious questions to up-close encounters with reptiles, our little learners embraced every opportunity to explore, imagine, and grow.
Through our Summer STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) program, children engaged in hands-on learning that brought abstract concepts to life. Whether building bridges out of blocks, mixing colors during art time, or investigating the natural world, every activity was designed to foster critical thinking and joyful discovery.
But the learning didn’t stop there.
Our children also gained important life skills, like water safety during our weekly splash days. Field trips, like our visit to the Children’s Museum of Atlanta, sparked awe and opened new doors of understanding. Each adventure offered fresh ways to connect the dots between fun and FUN’dational Learning😊
Of course, no summer would be complete without laughter, movement, and messy play. From outdoor games to sensory stations, the joy was constant, and so was the growth. Along the way, students learned how to share, lead, collaborate, and express themselves in new and meaningful ways.
With the guidance of our dedicated teachers and the support of our Family Services team, every child had the encouragement and tools they needed to thrive. And with the generous backing of our community, we were able to turn another summer into something truly special.
